Book review on Bookmunch
For a few years now, Bookmunch – which has recently undergone a delightful transformation. It’s an honest, punchy site which covers an excellent range of literature, feeding all the parts I’m looking for. Run by the charming and talented Pete Wilde, its developed over time without losing any of its wit or radiance. Sum by [...]
3 poems on 3am magazine
My latest three poems are now live on 3am Magazine: Newcomer, Pivot and Silence. It’s restored my faith in the poetry scene… Silence is one of my favourite poems and I’ve been trying to get it placed for some time but it has been rejected on the grounds of being too “strong”. Whatever that [...]
Haiku on dogmatika
Read my latest haiku, inspired by the long dark nights which are finally retreating. It’s been a while since I graced the enigmatic pages of Dogmatika – which has undergone a design overhaul (which I personally like a lot) and a temporary decamp to wordpress. Elizabeth Rose on Word Riot
I love this site, because of how raw it is. That’s why I’m always pleased to be included on there. This submission was added some time ago but I forgot to update the site. So here it is… Priceless on Word Riot.
Magnitude by Jacob Sam-La Rose (Part II)*
Magnitude
II

one of my students, a Guyanese boy, late teens,
shares a draft in which he’s counting
the breaths of his sleeping girlfriend.
He’s met her father, shook his hand –
weeks later, the girl explains
that her Akan blood arrows back up to royalty,
that the boy is the son of [...]
Elizabeth Rose is moving to Dublin
The writing has not slowed…it´s just being placed in print publications and as we all know, this involves a longer process. In addition, a new job in Dublin has been secured and so time is being taken up withthe toils of moving…not that the interviews and documents have ceased!
So its on to pastures new and [...]
