My latest flash fiction Rent can be read over on Six Sentences. I´ve been looking forward to this one for two reasons; firstly, I think it´s a very strong piece which conveys exactly what I wanted, and secondly, I think it shows the power of this compact structure.

Thought up by the owner and editor of the six sentences phenomena, Robert McEvily, the format is like a challenging little comfort blanket. Concise enough to be accessible at any time, yet tricky enough to get the creative wings moving. I´m excited to hear there´s a book coming out soon…I´ve even submitted a few gems of my own in the hope of seeing them in the pages of the first six sentences print publication.

I know that there´s many people who admire the format out there (such as Garry Franks from “beautyofrecordlabels” and “beautyof washing lines”) and then there´s those who would shun it with their literary snobbery (names not included). The literary world often finds it hard to move on. Personally I love a great big hotchpotch of innovation and tradition. It keeps life sweet.
